Frequently Asked Questions

If there is a question that you would like to ask that is not listed below, please feel free to contact me using the "Contact" tab above.

What are your credentials?

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in New Jersey and New York. I obtained my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University in 2008, completed my Predoctoral Internship in community mental health at Westchester Jewish Community Services, and my postdoctoral fellowship in residential eating disorder treatment at The Renfrew Center of Philadelphia.

What populations do you work with?

I have worked in many different settings, including outpatient clinics, nursing homes, residential treatment facilities, eating disorder treatment facilities, and mental health clinics. Therefore, I am able to work with many different populations. In my current practice, I am available for the treatment of adults, including older adults.

What is your clinical orientation?

My clinical orientation is integrative, which means that I tailor my treatment method based on the needs and characteristics of each client. Generally, my treatment approach draws upon cognitive behavioral, humanistic, family systems, and/or psychodynamic theories. Central to my work with every client is a strong therapeutic relationship based on genuine compassion, trust, and respect.

What types of payment do you accept?

At this time, payment for services can be made in three ways. First, I am currently in-network with several insurance companies (for a full list, please click "Cost" tab above). Second, you can contact your insurance company to determine whether they will provide reimbursement for my services as an out of network provider. Third, I accept cash and check payment. My standard treatment fees are listed under the "Cost" tab above.

What can I expect to happen at the first session?

Our initial session will involve an intake interview that consists of completing paperwork, discussing your concerns, and reviewing relevant history and background information. Based on this intake, I will make recommendations with respect to treatment. In many cases, I recommend and offer psychotherapy based on the initial assessment. In some instances, however, I will recommend services that are better provided by other professionals, and I will provide appropriate referral information.

What are your office hours?

At this time, my practice is open on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with some evening hours. Additional times are available on a case by case basis.

Where is your office located?

My office is located in a professional building on Franklin Turnpike in Ramsey. There is free parking and the office is easily accessible from Route 17. The office is located on the first floor and there are no steps to get into the building.
